TV anchor and Former TV host for Pakistan Television cricket program ‘Game on Hai’, Nauman Niaz has apologized over spat with star cricketer Shoaib Akhtar on air. He said that Shoaib Akhtar is a star and he has done a mistake. Nauman said “I had no right. To err is human and for that, I apologize. Not only once, but a million times. Shoaib has been a rock star. Whatever happened on camera was unbecoming.” During live transmission on Pakistan’s match with New Zealand, Akhtar praised Lahore Qalandar for bringing Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf on the screen. Nauman Niaz replied “You are being a little rude so I don’t want to say this but if you’re being over-smart then you can go. I am saying this on air.” Nauman’s father, General Niaz also asked him to apologize to Akhtar for his mistake.

Shoaib Akhtar said in a video that it was agreed before his resignation during the break that Nauman will apologize but he didn’t, that’s why he had resigned. On the other side, Nauman related the issue with Akhtar breaking the contract with PTV as attending shows on other news channels. However, after Akhtar’s resignation, the whole nation had asked Nauman to apologize for his mistake which he has done.
