Mohammad Rizwan becomes ICC’s T20 player of the year

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday, has named Mohammad Rizwan as its T20 cricketer of the year. Rizwan came back in the cricket last year and with his brilliant performances, achieved the title. A wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Rizwan is also brilliant behind the wickets. Due to his outstanding performances in the world cup, Pakistan reached the semi-final and was able to seek victory against arch-rival India. Statement from ICC said, “With another T20 World Cup coming up next year, Pakistan will hope that Rizwan continues in the same vein.” Rizwan has scored 1326 runs in only 29 matches at an average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 134.89 last year.

ICC has also included Rizwan in its T20 team of the year. ICC added, “The Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman ruled the roost in 2021 when it came to the shortest format of the game”. On the other side, Pakistan Cricket Board also named Rizwan as its most valuable player.
