Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan is still a cheaper country than others in the world. He claimed this while announcing the Ehsaas Riayat Rashan Programme in Islamabad. Petrol prices in Pakistan are still lower than in Abu Dhabi and UAE. Although the country is facing an inflationary period, the government is trying to uplift the economy and initiate welfare programs for the people. PM said, “I promise my nation that as long as you keep giving taxes, we will keep on enhancing the scope of welfare programs for the people.” Pakistan, like other countries, suffered through the consequences of COVID-19, but government policies has kept the nation in far better position than the others.
Imran Khan also highlighted the government policy of Insaf Sehat Card. The initiative will provide health insurance cover of up to Rs1 million through health cards. However, the cards will only be distributed in the provinces where PTI is in power. Sindh people will not get the Sehat cards. Besides, the government is also taking initiatives to empower women. He added, “My mother played a major role in my progress. If a woman is educated, she can lift the entire family.”
